Historic 140-year old house gets a complete renovation.

We are undertaking a mission to preserve this worn-out house, built out of used barn-timbers before platform framing or even balloon framing was invented. This house will be gutted and rebuilt with new construction techniques, new lumber, and with an eye towards LEEDs certification.

Photos show the sequence of demolition in the kitchen. Note the chimney which housed a cooking-fireplace, and contains a beautiful 5-foot by 12-inch x 12-inch sandstone cap above the fireplace box.
